UN says Gaza siege is largest displacement of Palestinian people since 1948

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugee (UNRWA) described what has been happening in Gaza since the beginning of the war as the largest displacement of the Palestinian people.

UNRWA said in a post on the X website that what happened in Gaza during the past 100 days is “the largest displacement of the Palestinian people since 1948,” and that an entire generation of Palestinian children “suffers from trauma and has been exposed to thousands killed, maimed and orphaned.

The death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza rose to 24,100, in addition to an increase in the number of casualties to 60,834, causing the displacement of more than 85 percent of the strip’s population (about 1.9 million people).
